    George was a World War II United States Army Veteran. He also served in the Minnesota National Guard until 1965.

    George was raised and schooled in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    George married Anna Wobbema on January 11, 1947.

    He was employed as a truck driver for United States Steel, and as a clerk and bartender for the City of Grand Rapids. He also worked at the Coast to Coast Store in Grand Rapids.

    George was a member of the local Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2023.

    Survivors are his wife, Anna; four daughters, Valerie Fox, Penny Burt, Rhonda Miller, and Wanda Hahn; three sons, George, Jr., Lyle, and Darrell; a sister, Jane Larry; two brothers, Walter and Earl; and fifteen grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; and a daughter, Kathleen.

    George is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-E-25-2-9)
