Alfred was the proprietor of Club 46 near Northome, Minnesota since 1975.
He was a member of the Rosetown Post of the American Legion, Alvwood Post 3869 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Association of Retired Persons, National Rifle Association and a thirty-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
He was an honorary life member of the Cass Lake Post of American Legion, which he helped establish.
Alfred had been employed by A. Guthrie Construction Company during the building of State Highway 46 and the Garrison Dam. He also had worked for Underground Services and Park Construction Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota in underground construction.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Pamela; two sons, Rex and James; his mother, Helen (Alvin) Thompson; one sister, Delores (Irvin) Thompson; one brother, Gerald; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, George in 1968 and one granddaughter, Amanda, in 1977.
Alfred died at his home and is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery at Northome, Minnesota.
