Bud grew up and attended school in Prairieburg, Iowa.
Following discharge from service, he made his home in Princeton, Minnesota and operated a machine shop for many years.
On April 10, 1976, Bud was married to Bertha (Stumpf) Jones in Princeton, Minnesota and they lived in the Splithand area of Grand Rapids, Minnesota since 1980.
In addition to fishing and reading, Bud loved hunting, whether by archery, rifle or black powder.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy; and by two sisters and two brothers.
Survived by his wife, Bertha "Julie"; two daughters, Sherry (Don) Larson, Linda (Bob) Harrison; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; stepdaughters, Nancy (Keith) Shuft, Ellen Harlow, Susan (Ben) Williams; stepson, Michael Jones; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other friends and relatives.
Bud died in Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Prairieburg, Iowa.
