Allen lived in Babbitt, Minnesota from 1966 to 1987, where he was employed by Reserve Mining Company. He moved to Sturgis, South Dakota in 1987, and then to Cohasset, Minnesota in 1989.
Allen married Donna Cronkhite at Grand Rapids, Minnesota on April 23, 1960.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset, Minnesota and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1539 of Babbitt, Minnesota.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Donna; sons, Jon and Aaron; daughters, Valerie Schroeder and Stephanie Kegler; his mother, Glenice Flug; brothers Norman, Jr. and Clarence; sisters, Sandra Peringer and Cheryl Jackson; and nine grandchildren.
Allen died in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota. (Plot c48e33)
