Pete served in the Aleutians Islands and on the landing of Okinawa in the Pacific.

For 37 years, Pete was a car inspector for the Duluth, Mesaba, & Iron Range Railway.
He and his wife, Ruth, also operated a fishing resort in Bena, Minnesota.
Pete and Ruth were long time members of Salem Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Pete is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughter, Arlene Morton (Steve); step-son, Reldon Hassler; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Peters (Bob) and Marylou French (Dan); and a brother, Bud.
Pete died in Wenatchee, Washington. Services were held at Salem Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
