Arthur was a lifelong resident of Splithand Township in Itasca County.
He was married to Sigrid I. Lee on February 21, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Arthur farmed in the Splithand area most of his life and also worked as a carpenter in construction in the area. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Oscar, in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Ingrid; daughters, Dorothy Carpenter, Susan Swenson, Lori Vogelpohl, and Jennifer Behm; two sons, Dennis and Steven; a sister, Norma Phillips, and four grandchildren.
Buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.17.4.8)
