He is survived by his wife, Pauline; three brothers, John, Herbert, and Albert; seven sisters, Mrs. Edward Dehn, Mrs. L. G. Favre, Mrs. Edna Gangl, Mrs. Lloyd Hall, Mrs. Emma Laack, Mrs. Alfred Otto, and Mrs. Robert Remus.
August died at the Veterans Hospital at Fort Snelling and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-E-11-3-2)
