She took her boot training at Hunter College, New York, and is now stationed in Washington, D.C. Miss Langton is a graduate of Greenway High School in Coleraine. Betty Langton married Paul D. Summers in 1944 in Washington, D.C. The couple moved to Pengilly, Minnesota after discharge from the service. Betty worked at Oja’s Store in Pengilly for 25 years, then as a secretary for Nashwauk-Keewatin School District for 18 years.
Betty died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Goodland Township, Itasca County, Minnesota. She is survived by her three children, Michael (Judy), Mark (Judy), and Margaret; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1987; brothers, Roger and Keith; and sisters, Odell and Annabelle.
