    Byron was born and raised at Kelliher, Minnesota and attended school there. After serving during World War II, he operated stores in Bemidji and Mt. Iron, Minnesota.

    Byron taught school in Deer River, Minnesota and lived in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    He married Margaret Sjol in Fosston, Minnesota in 1953 and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion, Moose Club, and served as president of the MEA in Deer River, Minnesota. He was a member of the government-public relations committee for the MEA. He was also a member of the church council.

    Byron is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Mark; one daughter, Karen; and two brothers, Leonard and Clarence.

    Byron died at home and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-E-07-1-1)
