Carl grew up and attended school in Deer River, Minnesota.
On March 17, 1953, Carl married Bess Bartell in Deer River, Minnesota.
Following his discharge, he resided in the Deer River, Hibbing, and Grand Rapids, Minnesota areas.
Carl was self-employed as a truck driver until his retirement in 1988 and was also an airplane pilot.
He attended Assemblies of God Church in Hibbing, Minnesota and Grand Rapids, Minnesota and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Carl was an active sportsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Kenneth Dahl; and a sister, Helen Everson.
Carl is survived by his wife, Bess; daughter, Susan (Edwin "Ed") Werneke; son, Kenneth (Elizabeth "Liz"); seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Carl died in The Lodge at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-B-20-2-7)
