Carl attended schools in Erskine, Minnesota.
He married Josephine Hovland in June, 1918.
Carl came to Effie, Minnesota in 1920 and had made his home there ever since.
He was a charter member of the Waldron-Flaat Legion Post and a long-time member of the Effie Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; one daughter, Mrs. Rosella Baldwin; two sons, Alvin and Harold; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Severson.
Carl died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in the Bigfork Cemetery at Bigfork, Minnesota.
