Carl lived most of his life in East Akron, Ohio. He worked for many years as a sales tax representative for the State of Ohio.
Carl moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1952, and worked for several years for Independent School District 318 as a maintenance and handy man.
He also owned and operated Smitty's Resort on Pokegama Lake in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Carl worked for the State of Minnesota as a sales tax representative. He retired in 1983.
He was a past member of the Itasca Chapter of Disabled Veterans in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Rose; daughters, Betty Jean Erickson, Barbara Ann Smith; and Rose K. Spicer; son Carl D.; sisters, Rose S. Moskwa and Louella Roberts; brothers, Paul, Sr. and Joseph; and eight grandchildren.
Carl died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (no plot identification)
