    Newspaper article - Mar 1945 – Miss Carol Carlson, in nurse’s training at Kahler hospital in Rochester, has a three week's vacation, part of which she is spending with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson. She will also visit relatives in Ishpeming, Mich. She completed, just before returning home, her term of training in the children’s hospital of the University of Minnesota, which is part of the Kahler schedule.

    After completing her schooling at Kahler Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, Carol Carlson was employed by Anker Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota, St. Joseph's Hospital, Superior, Wisconsin, and Itasca Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She married Donald Severson in Minnesota in 1948. Carol was a member and chaplain of the Hibbing, Minnesota American Legion Auxiliary Chapter 222 and also a member of the Ladies of the Moose.

    Carol Severson died in Hibbing, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, Minnesota. She is survived by daughters, Jeri (George) Divens, Christine (Russ) Lindgren, and Nancy (Billy) Bryand; sons, James Severson, and Mark (Michelle) Severson; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; her husband, Donald; and her son, Donnie.
