Charles grew up and attended school in Chicago, Illinois and had been a resident of Carol Stream, Illinois prior to moving to Lawrence Township in 1991.
He married Bonnie Anderson on October 6, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois.
Charles had been a conductor for the Chicago and Northwest Railroad for over twenty years and had worked for the Village of Carol Stream Public Services Department prior to his retirement. He had been a volunteer fireman for the Village of Carol Stream.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Bessie George; and a sister, Marjorie George.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Sue Howell; two sons, John (Patricia) and David (Janet); six granddaughters; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Virginia Zumstein and Betty Humiston; special friends, John Watkins and Marty Hufnagel; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles died at his home in Lawrence Township in Itasca County. He is buried in Balsam Cemetery in Itasca County, Minnesota.
