Chuck served in the United States Navy during World War II on board the USS Ahlman.

Chuck grew up and attended school in Elk River, Minnesota where he lived prior to moving to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1975.
He was married to Shirley M. Peterson on February 4, 1947, at Elk River, Minnesota. He worked as a plumber in the construction industry from 1947 to 1967 when he started the Charles Moos Plumbing and Heating Company. He was self-employed until moving to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1975 when he returned to construction in the Grand Rapids area. He also worked as the plumbing manager at Mills Lumber Company in Grand Rapids for several yars. He retired in 1988. Chuck was currently serving as township supervisor for Wildwood Township, Itasca County, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Preceded in death by a son, Michael in 1982, his parents, three sisters, and eight brothers. Chuck is survived by his wife, Shirley; six sons, Douglas, David, Donald, Dennis, Darrell and Dean; four sisters, Helen Elliott, Alice Bartush, Margaret Baldowsky, and Sister Michaela Moos; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
