Charles Meyers married Donna Mornes in 1981 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Fairbanks, Alaska before moving back to Minnesota in 1986, where he built his family home. He enjoyed working in construction, fishing, hunting, and watching a good movie. For the past 2 1/2 years, he was employed by Colgan Air in Virginia.

Charles died in Sterling, Virginia, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He is buried in Harris Cemetery, Harris Township, Minnesota. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Donna; two daughters, Michelle Meyers and Melissa Meyers; one son, Matthew Meyers; his mother, Eva Meyers; and five brothers, Peter (Mary) Meyers Jr, Richard (Margaret) Meyers, Ben Meyers, Steve Meyers, and Michael (Joyce) Meyers. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Meyers, Sr.
