Chester was a retired biology teacher at Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota.
He maintained a lifelong interest in educating youth and promoting an appreciation for the environment.
Surviving relatives include his wife LaVerne; son Allen; daughters Lynn Olds, Marilee Gustafson, and Lorna Mix; brothers Morris and John; sisters Verna Olson, Marion Meyer, and Tish Blake; and seven grandchildren.
Chester died in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery at Coleraine, Minnesota. (Block 139)
