Christ served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and Korea. He retired after twenty years.

Christ attended schools in Calumet and the Greenway School District.
After retirement from the military, he then worked fifteen years for United States Steel on the Iron Range and nine years for Grand Rapids Township as sexton at Itasca and Calvary cemeteries.
He married Sophie Dotlich on October 6, 1966, at Marble, Minnesota. They lived in Calumet, Minnesota until moving to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1967.
Christ was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Surviving relatives include his wife; daughters, Debbie Bray, Pam Evanoff, and Pam Smith; son, George McKim; sisters, Clara Kolar, Mary Miller, Annie Bartalini, and Barbara Cleland; brothers, John, Sammy, and Bill; and granddaughters Renee Bergen and Sophie McKim.
Christ died in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot C-A-16-1-7)
