    He married Elaine Huffer on May 8, 1948.

    Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Donald, a grandson and three brothers.

    Clayton is survived by his wife, Faith (Elaine) Erven; two daughters, Mary Porterfield and Lois Jones; three brothers, Roger, Vernie, and Kenneth; five sisters, Betty Lemler, Evelyn Hill, Orlienne Dimmitt, Joyce Archambeau, and Judy Harris; and six grandchildren.

    Clayton died at his home and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-B-48-0-4)
