Clifford was proud of his service in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II (6 years).

Clifford was proud of his teaching career in the Norwood-Young America, Minnesota School District (4 years) and in the Greenway School District (22 years) and of building and operating his business, Cliff Wold's Canoe Trip Outfitting Company, Inc. (48 years).
He loved his family, his dogs and a good discussion about history, politics or current events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers George, Alfred, Clarence, Herbert, Otto, and Sherman; and a sister Ruth Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; a daughter and son from a previous marriage, Karen (Steve) Graves and Cliff (Marcia) Wold, Jr.; four grandchildren; sister-in-law Mildred Turk; brother-in-law Bill (Becky) Eimermann; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Clifford died in Ely, Minnesota and at his request there were no services.
