Clinton was the owner of Hi-Land Cabins on Island Lake for many years and also was employed by the Grand Rapids Herald Review as a pressman during the years he made his home in Deer River, Minnesota.

Clinton was a member of Theodore Roosevelt Lodge #1022 AF/AM in Chicago, Illinois, White Oak Chapter #206 O.E.S. of Deer River, Minnesota, Past High Priest of the R.A.M. of Pokegama Chapter #102, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Aad Temple Shrine of Duluth, Minnesota, Finance Committee of the VFW of Deer River, Minnesota and WWI Barracks #1356 in Deer River, Minnesota.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Mildred.

Clinton died at Bellwood, Illinois and interment was in Pine Ridge Cemetery at Deer River, Minnesota. No photo of grave marker is available at this time.
