Dale served with the United States Army during World War II in Alaska and Europe.

Dale came to Grand Rapids in 1929.
He worked for the M.A. Hanna Mining Company for twenty-two years. He was a general pit superintendent in 1970.
Dale married Ena Holten on December 2, 1965.
He was a member of the Itasca Lodge 208 AF&AM, Aad Temple Shrine and North Star Shrine Club.
He died at Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Ena; three grandchildren; one brother, Donald; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Erven, Mrs. Donald (Marge) Hughes, Mrs. Dorothy Foss, and Mrs. Hubert (Ethel) Pohlman; and several nieces and nephews.
Buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 2.25.4.1)
