He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; brother, Irvin; and a grandson, Andrew.

Darius is survived by a daughter, Lily Cadwell; two brothers, Warren and Harold; two sisters, Irene Denasha and Dianna Kingbird.

Darius died in Duluth, Minnesota. A wake service and funeral service was held at the Inger Community Center in Inger. Burial was at Inger Cemetery in Bowstring, Itasca County, Minnesota.
