Preceding him in death were his wife, Shirley; parents, Roy and Emma Emerson; brothers, Earl, Robert, LeRoy and Russell; and sisters, Goldie Martin and Verna Merritt.
Darrell died in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Olivet Cemetery at Deer River, Minnesota.
