David was united in marriage to Sheila Marie Killian on October 1, 1966. They had three sons; Greg, Dennis, and Larry.

David loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved woodworking and the outdoors. When he wasn't building grandfather clocks in his woodshop, he spent his free time searching for the next walleye and crappie.

David was a devout Catholic who was a member of the Knights of Columbus. David loved volunteering for his church and community.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; sons, Greg (Mary), Dennis (Alesha) and Larry (Hilari); eight grandchildren; his mother Marcella; seven brothers, Raymond (Arlene), Ronald (Coletta), Jerome (Patricia), Michael (Jane), Bernard (Mary), Neal (Claudeen), and Gerald (Becky); two sisters, Marina (Dana) Sims and Rita (Joe) O'Meara; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; sister, Patricia; and granddaughter, Heather.

David died at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids. (Plot I-G-19-05)
