David Meyer married Alice M. Voight in Vincenza, Italy in 1985 and the couple lived in Crystal, Minnesota until his discharge from service in 1988. In 1994 they moved to Trout Lake Township. David worked as a truck driver for Figgins Transport in Grand Rapids.
David died at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Minnesota (IG2024). He is survived by his wife, Alice "Ali"; a daughter, Nichole Meyer; three sisters, Kathy (Chris) Stromberg, Barbara (John) Rind, and Nancy Meyer; and two grandsons. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a son, David Meyer, Jr.
