David was a carpenter for several years and worked for the State of Minnesota Bridge Maintenance for 25 years, retiring as a foreman in 1982.
He married Leora Danley in 1949. She died in 1991. He married Shirley Sorenson in 1991.
David was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, David, Jr.; a daughter, Barbara Ahlm, three stepsons, Ronald Sorenson, Gerald Sorenson, and Wayne Sorenson; two stepdaughters, Sharon Mohamed and Elette Wilson; three sisters, Eunice Armstrong, Beverly Hagan, and Mavis Woleski; two grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Leora, his parents, and three brothers.
