Dennis was united in marriage to Evelyn Wilson on February 23, 1957.
He worked 39 years for Burlington Northern Railroad and then moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1991 to retire.
He was past state vice president of the Jaycees and a member in Aitkin, Minnesota. He also was a member of the American Legion in Grand Rapids.
Dennis loved to garden, feed birds, fish, hunt, and cook. His wonderful sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Christine (Jon) Moberg; four sons, Peter, James (Lori), John (Jeanne) and Michael (Virginia); two brothers, Charles (JoAnne) Garner and Rich (Jean) Garner; and twelve grandchildren.
Dennis died at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Macville Cemetery at Swatara, Minnesota.
