Dennis served in the Minnesota Army National Guard for five years.

Dennis attended Maryhill Academy in Aitkin, Minnesota and graduated from Crosier Seminary Prep in Onamia, Minnesota. Dennis attended Crosier Seminary for two years and St. Paul Seminary for one year.
Dennis taught English and German in Battle Lake, Minnesota for two years and in Remer, Minnesota from 1968 until his retirement in 1999.
On April 29, 2000, he was united in marriage to Judith Johnson in Remer, Minnesota.
Dennis was active in the Remer Fire Department for 20 years. He loved gardening and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jack.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Judith; three brothers, Thomas (Shirley), Richard (Lola), and Michael (Connie) and twenty-eight nieces and nephews.
Dennis died at his home in Remer, Minnesota after a courageous battle with cancer. He is buried in Saint Thomas Cemetery in Aitkin, Minnesota.
