  • Civilian Life:
Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Navy, Donald married Arleen Erickson on July 12, 1965.

The couple moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1976 where Don worked for Potlatch (then Blandin Wood Products) until he retired.

Don and Arleen filled their retirement years traveling the region's arts and craft fairs where Don sold his handcrafted woodwork.

Arleen passed away in 2001. Don was blessed yet again, fortunately, when he met Nancy Eagleson and they married in 2007.

A kind-hearted, honest, hard-working man with a lively sense of both good humor and adventure and an ear always ready to listen, Don will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Arleen.

Don is survived by his wife, Nancy Eagleson; children, Scott Fenske, Mindy (Jason Munsell) Fenske; two stepsons, Ward (Mary) Eagleson and Mark (Laura) Eagleson; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.

Don died at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota after losing his fight with esophageal cancer. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery at Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
