Donald Mitchell grew up and attended schools in the St. Cloud, Minnesota area. He worked in the CCCs for a period of time. Following the war he moved to the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area where he married Revona Hagen in 1950. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching sports.
Don died at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids and is buried in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Minnesota (CC1809). He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Richard) Lorenz; two sons, Ken (Mariann) Mitchell and Albert (Rhonda) Mitchell; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Pierson; two brothers, Gordy (Jean) Mitchell and David (Pat) Mitchell; and his companion Johnnie Dexter; He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 33 years, Revona.
