On October 13, 1956, Donald married Sally Ann Walsh in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Donald owned and operated Vendors Refrigeration Service for several years and was employed with Sears as a refrigeration technician until retiring in August, 1991.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Donald loved the outdoors; especially hunting, fishing, canoeing and walking, and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally; two sisters, Myrna and Doris; three brothers, Robert, Ray, Jr., and Charles; a nephew, Steven Childs; a daughter-in-law, Julie Childs; a brother-in-law, Irv Hansen and a sister-in-law, Mary Hansen.
Donald is survived by his sons, Tom (Kitty), John (Mickey), Joe; his sisters, Virginia Longballa, Joyce (Leonard) Deering, and Carol (Butch) Messer; his brothers, Loren, David (Judy); his sisters-in-law, Ann, Marge; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
