He moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1965 to work for the United Parcel Service.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Genevieve Helmbrecht; his wife, Leta; four sons, Randy, Donald, Wade and Wally; and three brothers, Duane, Dale, and Delwin.
Donald died by drowning while hunting ducks at Henning, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.4.2.6)
