He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Jeremiah; one daughter, Jamie; two brothers, Robert and Leslie; three sisters, Vickie Olson, Sandra Marovich, and Lois Buzay; and his mother, Viola Woody.

Don died in Minneapolis and is buried in the Warba-Feeley Cemetery at Warba, Minnesota.
