    Dorothy was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Della Rahier.

    After the war, Dorothy married the sailor, Richard J. Distel and by 1953, they were settled in Bishop, California where they remained and raised their family.

    Dorothy worked in the x-ray and radiology department of the local hospital until retirement.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; four older Rahier brothers, Vernon (Jack), Vincent, Douglas and Elwyn; a sister, Beatrice Rahier Hastings; and her husband, Richard who died on December 14, 1994--twelve years earlier to the day.

    She is survived by her eldest sister, Alice Rahier Poor; a daughter, Barbara Distel; a son, Richard J. Distel; a daughter, Becky Distel Reining; and a daughter, Lori Distel; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    Dorothy died in Bishop, California and is buried in East Line Street Cemetery at Bishop, California. (Sec 15, Row 13, Grave 62)
