    Following completion of academic programs leading to Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science Degree, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1954, I was called to active duty as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve, Veterinary Corps.
    I reported to Fort Sam in Houston, Texas for the Medical Field Service School for basic training from January - February, 1955.
    I was assigned to Fort Detrick, Maryland, biological warfare labs for two years as a Veterinary Lab Officer. Following my active duty service, I was in an inactive reserve status until November 29, 1962.
