    Edward married Mary B. Roney at Oakes, North Dakota on August 13, 1928.

    He owned and operated the Cogswell, North Dakota Gambles Store and was a 50 year member of the Cogswell VFW. Edward was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Cogswell. He came to Grand Rapids in May, 1979.

    Edward is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Father Richard Goellen, a Chaplin with a rank of Major in the United States Army and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia; two daughters, Honora (James) German and Carol (Joseph) Timmins; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Edward died at Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-11-2-9)
