Edwin was the owner/operator of PJ's Restaurant in Winter Haven, Florida for the past six years. Prior to that, he owned and operated Island View Lodge Resort on Sand Lake in Itasca County, Minnesota.

Edwin was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; two sons, Edwin S. Danis, Jr. and Duane Danis; a daughter, Cynthia Randall; a brother, Daniel; and eight grandchildren.

Edwin died at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and is buried in Sand Lake Cemetery in Itasca County, Minnesota. (Block 13, Lot K)
