    Elias worked for Great Northern Railroad for a time and managed the National Tea grocery store in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for several years. He also worked for the Minnesota Highway Department for 35 years, retiring in 1964. He was a charter member of Grace Bible Chapel, where he served as an elder for many years. He was a member of Ponti-Peterson Post #1720 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion McVeigh-Dunn Post, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Elias was a resident of Grand Rapids, Minnesota for 76 years.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet and a daughter, Mary Lou. He is survived two his sons, Willis and Donald; three daughters, Audrey Porter, Olivemae Gebhart, and Betty Knight; 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

    Buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota (Plot I-B-49-18)
