Carl was in the United States Army Reserves from 1966-1972.

Carl was raised and went to school in Littlefork, Minnesota.
He moved to the Deer River, Minnesota area in 1972, where he started a small farm and was a truck driver.
Carl was the owner operator of Carl Erickson Trucking Company since 1985. In his spare time, Carl loved to travel on his Harley and fix up old tractors and still do a little farming.
He was a wonderful Grandpa. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Axel Carl Erickson.
Survived by son, Ronald (Diane); daughter, Wanda (Thomas Keteri) McCarroll; eight grandchildren; mother, Violet Erickson; brother Dale (Leanne); four sisters Jeanne (Greg) Kunst, Jane Erickson, Bonnie (Hugh) Miller, and Arlene (Dave) Reimer; and many nieces and nephews.
Ernest died in Deer River, Minnesota and is buried in Lindford Riverside Cemetery at Littlefork, Minnesota.
