Ernest was a long time resident of the area. He had made his home at Bovey and Hibbing, Minnesota prior to moving to the Buck Lake area in Itasca County.
Ernest married Edla Johnson.
Ernest retired from the Oliver Mining Company in 1949.
He was a member of the World War I Barracks of Hibbing, Minnesota.
Surviving are his wife, Elda; two sons, Melvin and Maynard; two daughters, Mrs. Ira (Gladys) Hummell and Mrs. Wallace (Grace) Whitman; one sister, Mrs. Mary lee; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ernest died in the Hibbing General Hospital in Hibbing, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing, Minnesota. (Plot Maplehill-4-6-4 E 1/2)
