Ernest was a lifelong resident of Keewatin, Minnesota.
He was employed as an assistant manager of Mills Lumber Company in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Ernest was a member of the American Legion Post #452 of Keewatin, the VFW Post #1720 of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the Keewatin City Band, Keewatin Volunteer Fire Department, Keewatin Senior Citizens, and a former member of Assembly of God Church in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Throughout the years, Ernest played Taps for his military friends that had gone before him. He enjoyed people, his dog, "R.T", and absolutely loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Watha (Churchill) Gallina; and his parents, Edgar and Bessie Gallina.
Ernest is survived by his son, Edwin (Polly); daughter, Marla Gallina; sister, June (John) Draskovich; his grandson, Dave (Amy Gangl) Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernest died at Leisure Hills Health Care Center in Hibbing, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing, Minnesota. (Block 5, Lot 100, Grave 2 W 1/2)
