    Floyd married Marie Hicks on April 12, 1947 in the United Methodist Church in Litchfield, Minnesota.

    The couple made their home in Litchfield, Minnesota until moving to Deer River, Minnesota in 1957. In 1959, they moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    Floyd was employed with the Minnesota Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1981.

    He was a long-time member of the Grand Rapids United Methodist Church, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, served as a councilman for the City of LaPrairie for 12 years and was fire warden for nine years. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

    Floyd is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Ridley and Barbara (Glen) Bergstrom; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Arnleend; and a brother, Don.

    Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Marie.

    Floyd died at the Itasca Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 3.17.3.8)
