Floyd worked at Blandin Paper Company in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for several years and from 1951 to 1962 worked as an electrician with Cross Electric. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years and retired from that service in 1963. That year, he moved to Shoreview, Minnesota with his family and was employed by 3M Alarm Services until retirement in 1977.
Survivors are his wife, Lois; son, Nicholas; two sisters, Dorothy (James) Brace and Vivian Beaudet; three brothers, William, Raymond, and Roger; and two grandchildren.
