After serving in the Navy, Flip worked for M.A. Hanna and most recently for National Streel as a welder.
He was a member of the American Legion of Nashwauk in Nashwauk, Minnesota, and a former member of the Bovey Moose Club in Bovey, Minnesota.
Flip was very artistic, he loved drawing and painting.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann (Pete) Starnes and Jeanne Stoffel; brother, Jerry Dergantz; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and his two nieces, Susan Dergantz and Connie Korth.
Flip was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marion Dergantz; wife, Ruby in 2008; his brother, Bernard Dergantz; two grandchildren, Rebecca Koslowski and Owen Martinson; one great-grandson, Matthew Maready; and two nephews, James and Joey Dergantz.,
Flip died at the Bigfork Valley Hospital in Bigfork, Minnesota and is buried in the Nashwauk Cemetery at Nashwauk, Minnesota.
