    Francis enlisted in 1917 and was honorably discharged in 1919 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He served in Supply Company of the 28th Infantry, 1st Division.

    Francis Raphael Glass was better known as F. Ray Glass.

    He obtained employment with the Chicago, Rock Island Railroad and then became a salesman, at first for the Warfield Pratt Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, then for the Fort Dodge Grocery Company in Fort Dodge, Iowa from 1922-1942, then he became the OPA director of foods in St. Paul, Minnesota from 1942-1948. He was a member of the firm Collins and Glass, realtors in Seattle, Washington from 1948-1953. Since then, due to sickness, he has lived at Tacoma, Minneapolis, and Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Norlie, whom he married in 1922; a daughter, Frances Jane, married to Alfred Savage; five grandchildren; a brother, Lee; and a sister, Sister Mary Bernadette.

    F. Ray Glass was a nobleman, a good husband, kind father, faithful friend, a loyal soldier of Uncle Sam and of the Cross. Blessed be his memory.

    He died of heart failure while in his car near Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He is buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Plot G, O, 3198)
