Franny grew up in Wabana Township in Itasca County where he lived most of his life.
He worked for the Danube Mine and later for the Erie Mining Company at Taconite Harbor and finally at Hibbing Taconite where he retired in 1990 after 39 years in the mining industry.
Franny was a member of the American Legion in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; five daughters, Debby Kee, Pat Sherman, Rubye (Mike) Smith, Annette Wakeman, and Sherri Wakeman; one son, Scott (Cinde); two sisters, June Garner and Marion Hughes; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Franny died at his home in Wabana Township and is buried in Wabana Cemetery in Itasca County.
