Frederick served in the United States Army and was stationed in France during World War I.

After his discharge from the service, Frederick worked in sales. He worked for Graybar Electric and Minnesota Power. He also owned and operated Eggar Bennett and Hondlik.
He and his wife owned and operated Chapel Hill Resort on Big Sand Lake and he was very active in the Sand Lake community.
Frederick was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9703 of Talmoon, Minnesota, Veterans of World War I, Chippewa Lodge No. 275.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice; and his brothers.
He is survived by a sister, Ruth Hagele.
At the time of his death, he was a resident of the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Frederick is buried in Sand Lake Cemetery, Itasca County, Minnesota.
