Fritz was a resident of the Cohasset-Ball Club, Minnesota area for 76 years. He came to the West Cohasset area as a small boy.
He served with the Army in World War I and farmed and worked for United States Steel after his return.
Fritz was married to Charlotte Rasmusson in 1939 in the West Cohasset Chapel. He was active in the Itasca County Farm Bureau, Itasca Barracks 2504 of World War I Veterans, and the West Cohasset Chapel.
Survivors are his wife, Charlotte; a son, Daniel; two step-sons, David R. Rasmusson and John H. Rasmusson; twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry; and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Landey and Mrs. Ann Toby.
Buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota.
