    George and his family have been residents in the Blackberry community in Itasca County, Minnesota sixteen years.

    George married Dorothea (Hoffarth) Sladek.

    He was retired by the Oliver Iron Mining Division in 1954.

    George was a member of the Freeman-Blakesley American Legion Post at Warba, Minnesota. Members of that post extended military honors at the burial. He also was a member of Itasca Council Knights of Columbus.

    Survivors include his wife, Dorothea; three daughters, Mrs. Edith (Ralph) Sutherland, Miss Dorothea Connolly, and Miss Patricia Connolly; four sons, Claude, David, James, and Hugh.

    George died in Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot C-B-43-3-2)
